Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to Flimpa ("Flimpa", "we", "us", or "our").

This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you access or use the Flimpa website and its tools (the "Service").

We strive to follow internationally recognized privacy principles and applicable data protection standards, including GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar regulations.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. Identity of the Data Controller

The Service is operated by an independent individual acting as a sole proprietor under the tax status of Self-employed / Platachnik Naloga na Professionalny Dohod (NPД).

  • Operator: Degtev Artur Valerievich
  • Tax ID (INN): 507204897716
  • Contact email for privacy requests: info@flimpa.com

2. Information We Collect

Flimpa does not require user registration for basic file processing. We do not intentionally collect directly identifying personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, postal address, payment details, or government ID unless you voluntarily provide them in the future via contact forms or account features.

When you visit the Service, we automatically collect technical information:

  • IP address;
  • Browser type and version;
  • Device type and operating system;
  • Referring pages and URLs;
  • Pages visited and language preferences;
  • Date, time of access, and session duration;
  • Cookies and similar technologies.

3. User Files and Content (Your Data Responsibility)

Flimpa provides on-demand tools to convert, compress, merge, or edit digital content.

Limited Processing Purpose & No Internal Use

Files are processed solely to perform the operation you requested. I do not use uploaded files for advertising, marketing, profiling, building commercial datasets, or any activity unrelated to providing the specific tool function.

No AI or Machine Learning Training

Uploaded files, generated outputs, and their contents are NOT used to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or develop artificial intelligence systems, machine learning models, or automated learning algorithms.

Access and Security

I do not manually review file contents. Automated processing occurs only to execute your request. While I implement reasonable security measures during transmission and temporary storage, no internet-based system is 100% secure.

Temporary Storage

Unless a tool explicitly offers permanent cloud storage, files are deleted automatically immediately after processing or within a short technical retention period required for system stability.

User Responsibility (Data Controller Status)

You retain full ownership and control over your files. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to upload and process the content. If your files contain other people's personal data, you act as the Data Controller under GDPR, and Flimpa acts strictly as a technical processor on your instruction.

4. Geolocation and Localization

To improve accessibility, I may determine an approximate location based on your IP address exclusively to select the appropriate language version or display localized interface elements. This data is not used to create individual profiles.

5. Analytics and Yandex Metrica

I use Yandex Metrica to understand site performance and visitor behavior. It collects technical data listed in Section 2 above.

This data is aggregated and used to analyze traffic, monitor errors, and improve usability. For more information about how Yandex processes data, please refer to Yandex's official privacy documentation.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

I use cookies for core functionality (e.g., remembering language preference) and analytics. Users may control or disable cookies through browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may affect certain functions of the Service.

7. Purposes of Processing

Information is processed solely to:

  • Operate and maintain the Service;
  • Execute requested file operations;
  • Deliver localized content;
  • Ensure security and prevent abuse;
  • Generate anonymous, aggregated analytics.

8. Legal Basis for Processing

Where laws like GDPR apply, my legal bases include:

  • Consent: When you interact with optional features or accept cookies.
  • Legitimate Interests: Operating the service, securing servers, and preventing fraud.
  • Contractual Necessity: To provide the specific tool functionality you requested.
  • Legal Obligation: Compliance with court orders or law enforcement requests.

9. Data Sharing and Third Parties

I do not sell personal information. Technical data is shared only with trusted infrastructure providers necessary to run the Service:

Yandex Metrica

Used for website analytics and performance monitoring governed by Yandex's own policies.

10. International Data Transfers

Technical information may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. Where applicable (e.g., EU-to-US transfers), I rely on appropriate safeguards to ensure data protection.

11. Data Retention

I do not store personal information longer than necessary. Uploaded files are deleted upon task completion. Analytics logs are retained according to standard industry practices and provider policies.

12. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., EEA, UK, California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your data.

Note: Because Flimpa generally does not link technical data to your identity without additional voluntary input, exercising these rights regarding automatic logs may be limited to opt-out actions (like disabling cookies).

13. Opt-Out Options

You can limit collection by adjusting browser privacy settings, disabling cookies, or using tracking protection extensions.

14. Security

I implement reasonable organizational and technical safeguards. However, absolute security cannot be guaranteed online.

15. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed toward children. I do not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of digital consent (typically 13–16 depending on region). If I learn I have collected data from a child, I will take steps to delete it promptly.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
